A challenging 12 km climb rewarded with panoramic summit views — rocky switchbacks, alpine meadows and a steady gradient for hikers ready to test their endurance.

A scenic 40 km ride hugging the shoreline, with gentle climbs, ocean breezes and plenty of spots to rest and take in the view. Great for intermediate riders.

An easy overnight trek through pine forest to a riverside campsite. Ideal for families and first-time campers, with a relaxed pace and stargazing after dark.

A flat 10 km out-and-back along the river path — soft trail underfoot, shaded sections and water stops, ideal for easy-paced group runs at any level.

Liability Waiver & Disclaimer

Esc to Close

I have read and understood the information provided about any events organised by Daare Devils ("Any Events"), and I agree to participate at my own risk. I understand that participating is a potentially hazardous activity that could result in serious injury, death or loss of property. I am aware of the risks involved — some of which are summarised under "Risk Factors" below — and I acknowledge that these are not exhaustive. I assume all risks involved in participating in Any Events.

Rules & Officials' Decisions

I agree to comply with the rules and directions of Daare Devils and its race officials, and to abide by any decision they make regarding any aspect of my participation — including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever.

Release & Indemnity

I waive, release, indemnify and discharge all persons, corporations, associations and bodies involved in organising, promoting or staging Any Events — including Daare Devils, along with its servants, agents, representatives, officials and employees. This includes (but is not limited to) race officials, volunteers, organisers and sponsors — whether or not any loss, injury or damage is attributable to the act or neglect of any one or more of them.

Nature of the Event

I understand that competing involves running and walking on remote wilderness trails with rocks, roots, stream crossings, and steep ascents and descents. I assume all associated risks, including but not limited to: steep drops on or near the course, challenging and slippery terrain, loose rocks and soft sand, motor-vehicle traffic, adverse weather, heat exhaustion, dehydration, hypothermia, and wildlife such as venomous snakes and wild boar.

Media Consent

I permit the use of my image, photographs, video, recordings and any other record of Any Events in the media and for their marketing purposes.

Medical Fitness & Treatment

I confirm that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate. I consent to receive any medical treatment deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident or illness during Any Events. I understand that all medical and emergency-evacuation costs for participants or crew are borne by that person or their heirs, and that Daare Devils is in no way liable or responsible for such costs.

No Refunds

I understand that Any Events do not provide refunds in the event of a cancellation. By acknowledging this waiver, I accept that I am not entitled to a refund if an event is cancelled before or during it.

Health Declaration

I confirm that I have never been diagnosed with any cardiovascular disease and have not been advised by a doctor to undertake physical activity only under supervision. I further confirm that I have never been diagnosed with any chronic illness and have never experienced dizziness or chest pain while running or during any physical activity.

Risk Factors

The specific risks depend on the activity. The factors below are illustrative — drawn from our more demanding trail and endurance events — and not all apply to every event. Always review the details and safety information for the specific event you register for.

Ultramarathons are physically demanding and carry medical risks, many of which can be extremely serious or fatal. Participation is at the runner's own risk. In a medical emergency, runners will be transported to the nearest hospital — but due to difficult terrain and limited access to much of the course, this may take time, in some cases several hours.

Participants are advised to consult their own doctor beforehand and to be aware of, and adequately prepared for, the stresses of trail ultramarathon events. Runners may experience dehydration, hyponatremia, disorientation, and physical and mental exhaustion. Officials will do all they reasonably can to ensure a safe event, but ultimately you must understand your own limitations. Follow the dictates of your body — not your ambitions. If you have not been able to prepare properly, do not attempt to run. Death can result from several of the conditions below or from other aspects of participation.

Renal shutdown

Acute renal (kidney) failure has been reported in other ultramarathons and, if untreated, can permanently impair kidney function. It is crucial to hydrate using electrolyte fluids during the run and for several days afterwards.

Heat stroke / hyperthermia

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can cause death, kidney failure and brain damage. Warning signs include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, irritability, confusion, weakness and a rapid heart rate — sometimes preceded by reduced sweating and goose bumps (often over the chest). It can progress from mild symptoms to collapse very quickly. A light-coloured shirt and cap kept wet can help; if symptoms appear, cool rapidly with ice to the groin, neck and armpits, stay hydrated, and carry fluids between aid stations.

Low sodium & chloride (hyponatremia)

Low sodium levels have been linked to severe illness requiring hospitalisation. Water intake alone is not sufficient — use fluids containing electrolytes, as water intoxication can be fatal. Symptoms include weight gain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, headache, confusion, dizziness, muscle twitching/cramping and fatigue; untreated, it can progress to seizures, oedema, coma and death. Replace electrolytes appropriately and consider potassium-rich foods such as bananas or oranges. No alcoholic beverages at any time during or before the run.

Wildlife hazards

This course passes through areas with inherent wildlife risks; the following is a general warning, not an exhaustive list. Participants must exercise caution and situational awareness throughout.

  • Snakes: Venomous snakes may be present and pose a potentially life-threatening risk. Never approach a snake; in the event of a bite, timely medical help is not guaranteed.
  • Domestic animals: Dogs may be encountered in villages. Avoid eye contact and proceed with caution to reduce the risk of bites.
  • Wild boar: Sightings are possible. Give boar a wide berth and never approach them.
  • Insects & parasites: Mosquitoes are prevalent. Wear protective clothing and apply insect repellent.
Injuries from falling

Falling is an ever-present danger. Parts of the trail are narrow, uneven and slippery, with drops on or near the path. Take extreme care at all times, especially in the dark.

Muscle necrosis

Some muscle-cell death in the legs can occur from ultramarathon participation, with recovery taking several months — a greater risk for those who become dehydrated or overexert themselves.

Overuse injuries

Numerous overuse injuries can occur, especially to the knee, ankle and leg muscles and tendons. Sprains, fractures and blisters are common on rough trails. Be prepared to treat these yourself on the trail.

Common fatigue

Fatigue, combined with dehydration and other debilitating conditions, can produce disorientation and irrational decisions.

Getting lost

Although the course is marked, you may lose your way. If in doubt, do not improvise a route — backtrack to the last marker you saw. If you cannot find your way, stay where you are and call out for help repeatedly. Wandering reduces your chances of being found.

Difficulty reaching injured participants

Some sections are remote and inaccessible by vehicle. Despite the organisers' precautions, there is no assurance that aid or rescue will arrive in time should you become ill, incapacitated, injured or attacked.

If You Become Injured, Exhausted or Ill

Stay on the trail. Call out for help — you will be found there by another runner or a volunteer.

If you feel dizzy, disoriented or confused, do not risk falling — sit down on the trail until you recover or are found. An unconscious runner even a few feet off the trail can be impossible to find in time. If you are assisted by people not associated with the race and choose to leave the trail, you must notify the official at the nearest checkpoint that you are dropping out.

Medical and other personnel will assist when possible, but you are ultimately responsible for your own well-being. Monitor yourself throughout, know the distance to the next aid station, and be prepared to drop out at the nearest one if it simply isn't your day.

Daare Devils organises physically demanding outdoor activities — running, cycling, trekking and swimming — which carry inherent risks. All participants take part at their own risk, as set out in our Liability Waiver & Disclaimer.

Unless a specific event explicitly states otherwise, your registration fee does not include personal accident, medical, or travel insurance.

Personal Insurance Is Strongly Recommended

In line with our waiver, all medical treatment and emergency-evacuation costs for participants or their crew are borne by that person or their heirs. The organisers are not liable or responsible for any such costs.

  • Ensure you are medically fit to participate and have trained appropriately.
  • Disclose any relevant medical conditions and carry any necessary medication.
